The NCC Rotaract Club is establishing a scholarship fund in memory of former NCC student Wyclif Bel-Jean, a young father who died last year as a result of gun violence.
Bel-Jean was well-known on campus as a student leader with a melodious voice whose “whole mission was for peace and justice and for the people to always have a voice.”
The Rotaract Club enables members to grow personally and professionally, address community needs and promote understanding through friendship and service. Service programs address such concerns as health care, hunger, poverty, illiteracy and the environment.
Rotaract was founded in 1968 by Rotary International, an association of clubs made up of service-minded business and professional leaders. The organization is designed to help clubs and districts achieve their service goals in their own communities and in communities abroad, fostering fellowship and goodwill in the process.
