An Exhibition Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation

The Fairfield Museum presents an exhibition and series of public and school programs commemorating the sesquicentennial of the Emancipation Proclamation. Promise of Freedom explores the essential issues and rights of freedom, equality, and citizenship and their meaning during the Civil War and today, and will feature an original Lincoln-signed copy of the proclamation along with other rare documents, prints, and artifacts from this pivotal period in American history.
