Women’s Studies Concentration Requirements:

Students in the Women’s Studies Concentration must take a total of 18 credits in Women’s Studies.  Three of the credits are the required course, Gender in the Everyday World.  Three additional credits may be taken as an internship.The fifteen credits past WMS 105 must be taken in at least two different disciplines.  This includes the internship, which must be discipline-specific as well as WMS oriented.  Students should confer with the WMS concentration coordinator to be sure they are meeting the concentration requirements.  Students in the WMS concentration must also take one non-western culture course: non-western history, non-western literature, etc.  Foreign language does not count for this requirement.

* To meet the mathematics requirement for transfer to most four-year colleges, the student should take MAT 146 or MAT 201.  (See your advisor.)
** Students with no college level credits in a foreign language must take a placement exam to register for any foreign language above the 101 level.  Students passing the foreign language placement exam for 101 will receive credit for that course.
*** One Interdisciplinary (IDS) course is needed to fulfill Core Curriculum requirements.  This course may be selected from Humanities, Science or Social Science areas.
