Co-operative Education

Co-op Ed is a great way for students to learn through experience, and for employers to gain highly motivated entry-level workers. Cooperative Education is a year-round internship program assisting students and employers in virtually every academic program at NCC. Connecticut Career and Technical Education Performance Standards and Competencies for Cooperative Work Education accurately reflect the learning outcomes of the Cooperative Education Program."

How Co-op Ed Works:

First Employers hire students as either:

  • Part-time or full-time
  • Paid or unpaid
  • For a 15-week semester

Then employers choose whether to offer ongoing employment. Last year, 85% of paid interns received job offers! Students gain experience and earn academic credit while they:

  • Launch a career before graduation or
  • Test out a career choice before transferring to a four-year school
