William H. Schwab Center for IT Offers Technology-Enabled Teaching and Learning

Introducing a building that means business.

The William H. Schwab Center for Information Technology is named in honor of NCC’s President, William H. Schwab PhD. This $20 million center for interdisciplinary studies and technical innovation is located in Norwalk Connecticut, just minutes from I-95 and the Merritt Parkway. It's a model for technology-enabled learning and workforce training in the Northeast and a valuable resource for both the community and Connecticut business and industry.

The William H. Schwab Center for IT provides a whole new way to teach and learn: whether you're studying cyber security or chemistry, Great Books or business. In addition to providing customized workforce education programs, it offers instruction in liberal arts and sciences, computer and information technology, computer security, public safety, business, social services, architectural engineering, and much more.

The Center also houses NCC's new Computer Security Institute and Degree Program, which has been funded by a $688,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. NCC offers the only undergraduate Computer Security Degree program in the nation that fully articulates with four-year degree programs.

The Center is an attractive building that combines gleaming glass, beautiful artwork and a dramatic cyber atrium with soaring ceilings. It's also a cutting edge resource with a forensic cyber security lab, computer-aided design studio, virtual library, videoconferencing center, smart classrooms, and networking labs. It has the wiring capability for Internet Protocol (IP) telephones and wireless access points throughout the building for students and visitors to plug in their laptops and connect anywhere to NCC's network.
