GAP Transfer Program to UConn

The Guaranteed Admissions Program is an agreement between the Connecticut Community College System and the University of Connecticut designed for students who enroll in a Liberal Arts transfer program at one of Connecticut’s community colleges. NCC students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity!

Here is how it works: Students who plan to continue their studies to earn a bachelor’s degree in either Liberal Arts and Sciences, or Agriculture and Natural Resources, or Business are guaranteed admission to the University of Connecticut once the associate degree has been earned at NCC and an overall average of 3.0 achieved (3.3 for UConn School of Business).

HOWEVER, STUDENTS MUST APPLY FOR THE PROGRAM BEFORE THEY HAVE EARNED MORE THAN 16 TRANSFERABLE CREDITS AT THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE. (“Transferable credits” refers to college-level courses. Developmental and ESL courses are not included in the count.)

Advisors from individual community colleges and UConn meet with Guaranteed Admission Program students throughout their community college careers, helping their eventual transition to the University of Connecticut. (Storrs, Stamford --- the campus of the student’s choice).

Please note: This program does not require the student to attend UConn! Admission to UConn via this program can be looked at as “insurance” or as one good option among others. It will help the student focus on transfer, and the NCC advisors will help students consider and apply to other possible four year colleges.
