NCC Faculty Members Collaborate at 22 Haviland Street GalleryNCC Art Faculty Chris Durante and Joe Fucigna will be having a two person exhibition of drawings at the 22 Haviland Gallery in South Norwalk. In addition to individual artworks, Fucigna and Durante will be showing collaborative drawings they have been working on for the past year. The exhibition opens April 16, 2009, with a reception from 6:00–9:00 pm. An artists’ talk will be held on Sunday, May 2 at 2:00 pm. The show closes May 30. Open to the public, 22 Haviland Street Gallery is located in downtown South Norwalk at 22 Haviland Street, across from the Haviland Street Parking Deck. Parking fee is $1 per hour Monday through Saturday, free on Sundays. Call 203-852-6727 for more information.
Chris Durante, an adjunct professor of studio arts, runs and operates a studio in Danbury where he prepares art work for local and national museum and gallery exhibits. His own drawings, depicting whimsical comic book abstractions, are shown extensively throughout the northeast, most recently at The Washington Art Association in Washington Depot CT. Durante holds a B.A. from Western Connecticut State University.
Joseph Fucigna, professor and coordinator of the Fine Arts and Studio Arts Program, is a practicing sculptor who is known for transforming common industrial materials into unique three dimensional abstractions. fucigna.com.
